The Whale Branch Warriors posted their biggest win since November 20, 2023 on Thursday. Everything went their way against Bamberg-Ehrhardt as Whale Branch made off with a 69-49 victory. With Whale Branch ahead 33-11 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Whale Branch's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Greggory Gilbert led the charge by scoring ten points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kj Chisholm, who scored nine points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Bamberg-Ehrhardt's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Eric Parker, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and six assists, and Isiah Johnson who scored 14 points along with six assists and two steals. Elijah Wright was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Whale Branch and bumps their season record up to 9-8. As for Bamberg-Ehrhardt, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-4.
Whale Branch will be playing at home against Royal Live Oaks Academy at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Royal Live Oaks Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Bamberg-Ehrhardt, they will head out on the road to challenge Branchville at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Branchville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Tuesday.
