Owen's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Asante Martin, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. The contest was Martin's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Jack Wesley Burk was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Owen's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-9. As for Mountain Heritage, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8.
Owen will be playing at home against Rosman at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Marley McCall and Martin. As for Mountain Heritage, they will head out on the road to face off against Avery County at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Avery County is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
