The Durango Demons had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They breezed by Eagle Valley at home to the tune of 48-7. The result was nothing new for Durango, who have now won five matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.
Jaxon Fancher was his usual excellent self, rushing for 96 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. Another player making a difference was Tyler Harms, who threw for 126 yards and two touchdowns on only eight passes.
Durango's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.3 points per game. As for Eagle Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Durango will head out on the road to face off against Palisade at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Palisade is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Eagle Valley, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Glenwood Springs at 7:00 p.m. Glenwood Springs is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
