Jennings County is 7-2 against Columbus East since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Olympians at 5:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Jennings County has three straight victories, Columbus East has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Jennings County lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Scottsburg, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's match. The Panthers put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 17-3 win on Monday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by seven runs or more this season.

Audrey McDonald tossed a big game, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emma Clapp, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Kate Treadway, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Jennings County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Columbus East lost a heartbreaker to Franklin Community when they met back in May of 2024, and they left with a heavy heart again on Saturday. The Olympians fell 10-7 to the Grizzly Cubs.
Columbus East also got a good showing from Foster Raegyn, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the first time Raegyn hasn't allowed a single earned run over her last seven contests.
At the plate, Thaise Jessup made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Jade Hampton was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Columbus East's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Jennings County, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Jennings County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .370. However, it's not like Columbus East struggles in that department as they've averaged .355. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Jennings County came out on top in a nail-biter against Columbus East in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
