Abington extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 2-6. They came up short against the Quakertown Panthers, falling 15-2. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, with their most recent loss being a 7-5 defeat on Wednesday.
Abington got a good showing from Brennan Ewer, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Ewer has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Abington saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tim Campbell, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Sam Richman also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
As for Quakertown, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1. The contest marked their most dominant victory of the season so far.
On Quakertown's side, they got a great performance from Lochlan Everitt as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave Everitt a new career-high.
At the plate, CJ Peacher was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brady Martin, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Looking ahead, Abington will square off against Wissahickon at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Quakertown, they will face off against Non Varsity Opponent at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
