On Saturday, Western Hills took a serious blow against Fairmont, falling 58-10. Western Hills was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-6.
Fairmont was led to victory by Kenzie Roark and Kaylah Thornton. Roark scored 12 points along with four steals, while Thornton scored 17 points along with four blocks. The game was Thornton's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Peyton Adams, who scored five points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Western Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Fairmont, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2.
Western Hills will take on Cincinnati College Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fairmont, they will head out on the road to face off against Northmont at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Northmont will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while Fairmont is ranked 75th).
