After flying high against Decatur last Tuesday, Burkburnett came back down to earth. Burkburnett took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagle Mountain Knights on Friday. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Delaney Reitz was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

Burkburnett's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Eagle Mountain, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-11-1.

Coming up, Burkburnett will welcome Springtown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Springtown's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Burkburnett's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Eagle Mountain, they will take on Lake Worth at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
