Joppa-Maple Grove has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Agape Christian Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Northside Baptist Christian scored an imposing 56 points on Tuesday, Joppa-Maple Grove still came out on top. Joppa-Maple Grove took their matchup against Northside Baptist Christian 65-56.
Joppa-Maple Grove's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brandon Pease led the charge by scoring 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Lyle, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, even though Century scored an imposing 65 points on Friday, Agape Christian still came out on top. Agape Christian managed a 69-65 victory over Century. The win was just what Agape Christian needed coming off of a 67-39 loss in their prior contest.
Joppa-Maple Grove's victory bumped their season record to 4-4 while Northside Baptist Christian's defeat dropped theirs to 0-2.
Joppa-Maple Grove was dealt a bruising 68-41 defeat at the hands of Agape Christian in their previous matchup back in February. Can Joppa-Maple Grove avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
