The San Ysidro Cougars will face off against the Montgomery Aztecs at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
San Ysidro's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over La Jolla Country Day. The win was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won four matchups in a row.
Isabella Ulloa made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, San Ysidro got a massive performance out of Julia Rosales, who went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave Rosales a new career-high. Mary Ellen Valenzuela was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
San Ysidro kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Montgomery can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They blew past Castle Park 32-6. The Aztecs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
San Ysidro pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.7 runs over those games. As for Montgomery, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.
