Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Matoaca's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

While Matoaca's win against Petersburg wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors' pitchers stepped up to hand the Crimson Wave a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Matoaca has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.1 runs on average over those games. As for Petersburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-11.
