Cuyahoga Falls hasn't had much luck against Revere recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Black Tigers will welcome the Minutemen at 5:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Last Thursday, Cuyahoga Falls had just enough and edged out North Olmsted 7-6.
Ash Walker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on MJ Mastrodonato, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Madi Davis was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Cuyahoga Falls was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Olmsted only posted a batting average of .241.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Revere, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Tallmadge on Tuesday, sneaking past 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Minutemen have posted against the Blue Devils since April 20, 2022.
Revere also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Ashley Gardner gave up just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Paige Kelley was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Kelley is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Gayle Mishic, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Revere now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Cuyahoga Falls, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Cuyahoga Falls might still be hurting after the 14-3 defeat they got from Revere in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Black Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
