When it comes to explaining why American School for the Deaf lost, one person who can't be blamed is John M. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 36 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points M has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Winkester M, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
The victory got Marvelwood back to even at 2-2. As for American School for the Deaf, they dropped their record down to 5-9 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marvelwood will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Cougars at 1:00 p.m. on February 17th. As for American School for the Deaf, they and the will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in their respective states (Rhode Island School for the Deaf is ranked 36th in Rhode Island, while the Tigers are ranked 45th in Connecticut).
