On Friday, the Lewis Angapak Blue Jays faced the Kongiganak Wolverines in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lewis Angapak secured a 50-46 W over Kongiganak. The score was all tied up 22-22 at the break, but Lewis Angapak was the better team in the second half.
Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maegan Charlie, who scored 15 points. Charlie is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Carson Miller, who scored 12 points.
Lewis Angapak pushed their record up to 11-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points per game. As for Kongiganak, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-3.
