The French Settlement Lions will take on the St. Scholastica Doves at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. French Settlement is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
It was a proper cat-fight when French Settlement duked it out with Pope John Paul II on Tuesday. The Lions blew past the Jaguars 12-2. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Malloy Miles made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-5.
In other batting news, French Settlement got a massive performance out of Ava Acosta, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Jacelyn Babin was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, St. Scholastica sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over St. Thomas Aquinas on Tuesday. The Doves haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Like French Settlement, St. Scholastica also got a great game from a two-way player: Karsen Boyet. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. What's more, Boyet posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Aubrianne Kavanaugh was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
The win got St. Scholastica back to even at 8-8. As for French Settlement, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
St. Scholastica's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. French Settlement has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.5 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for St. Scholastica, though, as they've been averaging only 2.2 strikeouts. Will French Settlement keep running through batters, or will the Doves buck the trend?
