Softball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Grant's Winning Streak

After a string of eight wins, Grant's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fremont Packers. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 17-2 to the Packers when the teams met back in May of 2018, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Payton Shoemaker was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Grant's defeat dropped their record down to 22-7. As for Fremont, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, Grant and Fremont will both be playing Hesperia the next time they take the field. The Packers will head out to face the Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 9:00 p.m.
