Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
New Life Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaleb James, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Marquez Rochelle, who scored 13 points.
Word of God Christian Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-11. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.0 points per game. As for New Life Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Word of God Christian Academy will take on the Generals at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Wayne Preparatory Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 411 points over their last six matches. As for New Life Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Sabres at 7:00 p.m. South Wake knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 games -- so hopefully the Monarchs like a good challenge.
