The North Springs Spartans were the 60-59 winner over the Chattahoochee Cougars when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. North Springs took a hard 61-42 fall against Chattahoochee on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, North Springs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while Chattahoochee is ranked 80th).
When it comes to explaining why North Springs lost, one person who can't be blamed is Esmer Madesko. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with six rebounds. That was a full 40.5% of North Springs' points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Robert Harris, who scored nine points.
North Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Chattahoochee, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Springs will take on Northview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northview is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Chattahoochee, they will be playing at home against Greater Atlanta Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greater Atlanta Christian is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road.
