The Hillsborough Raiders are taking a road trip to challenge the Franklin Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hillsborough will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.
Hillsborough barely beat Phillipsburg the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Stateliners on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Emma Anderson made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.

Gizzi went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI, while Whitney went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave Whitney a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alexis Carlisle, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.
Hillsborough always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Franklin gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Voorhees by a score of 9-4.
J Sejeck made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Sejeck was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, C Gomez was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. K Gallagher was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Hillsborough's record is now 16-2. As for Franklin, their record now sits at 10-8.
Hillsborough got the 'W' when the teams last played two weeks ago against Franklin by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
