The California School for the Deaf Eagles won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Monday. They were dealt a 92-49 loss at the hands of Cornerstone Christian. While losing is never fun, California School for the Deaf can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1142nd, while the Cougars are ranked 380th).
Cornerstone Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Benjamin Lukacs, who scored 16 points. AJ McCoy was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
California School for the Deaf's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Cornerstone Christian, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-6.
California School for the Deaf does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cornerstone Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Marlins at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th.
