The Cornerstone Academy Cougars lost against the Ocala Christian Crusaders back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Cornerstone Academy ended up on the wrong side of a rough 60-36 walloping at the hands of Ocala Christian. Cornerstone Academy has not had much luck with Ocala Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Raphael Valerio, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Valerio has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Espy, who scored ten points.
Cornerstone Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Ocala Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Academy will take on HEART HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Ocala Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bronson at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Bronson is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
