It was a good run, but the Dickinson Rams unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Sunday. They received a tough blow as they fell 74-57 to Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Dickinson came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked tenth in Delaware, while Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech is ranked 55th in Pennsylvania).
Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jarrell Little led the charge by scoring 19 points. That's the first time this season that Little scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Zachary Campbell, who scored 15 points.
Dickinson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dickinson will challenge Newark Charter School at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Audenried at 3:15 p.m. on December 19th. Audenried is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
