The Woodbridge Barrons will head out on the road to face off against the Sayreville Bombers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Woodbridge sitting on four straight victories and Sayreville on three.
Last Friday, Woodbridge was fully in charge, breezing past North Hunterdon 41-7 at home. With Woodbridge ahead 35-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Alexander Bosch V continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, picking up 101 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Bosch V's longest reception was for an incredible 70 yards. Jahmir Beal also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Sayreville earned a 24-16 win over Piscataway on Thursday.
Woodbridge's victory was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 6-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 North Hunterdon and 2-8 Kennedy Memorial (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 36% over those games). Sayreville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Woodbridge strolled past Sayreville in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a score of 35-21. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Sayreville's Caidan Holmes, who rushed for 115 yards, and also picked up 50 receiving yards. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Woodbridge to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
