On Tuesday, the Damonte Ranch Mustangs faced the Spanish Springs Cougars in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Damonte Ranch snuck past Spanish Springs with a 48-43 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Damonte Ranch.
Damonte Ranch was led to victory by Josie Tierney and Mya Ghisletta. Tierney scored 15 points along with nine rebounds, while Ghisletta scored 13 points along with four steals. Tierney continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kylee Moscove, who scored five points.
Damonte Ranch has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for Spanish Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Damonte Ranch will take on Bishop Manogue at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Spanish Springs, they will head out on the road to square off against Reno at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Reno has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
