The Combs Coyotes won the last time they faced the Coronado Dons, and things went their way on Thursday too. Combs walked away with a 63-50 victory over Coronado. Given Combs' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while Coronado is ranked 217th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Logan Tuckfield was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 4 assists. The contest was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kamren Dubose, who scored 15 points along with 5 assists.
The victory makes it two in a row for Combs and bumps their season record up to 7-2. As for Coronado, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Combs will be playing at home against Shadow Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Shadow Mountain is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Coronado, they will head out on the road to face off against Goldwater at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
