On January 4th, Grand Traverse Academy took a serious blow against Harbor Light Christian, falling 77-28. While losing is never fun, Grand Traverse Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 742nd, while Harbor Light Christian is ranked 296th).
Meanwhile, Catholic Central had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Crossroads Charter Academy 49-23. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Catholic Central has posted since December 1, 2023.
Grand Traverse Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Catholic Central, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8.
Grand Traverse Academy ended up a good deal behind Catholic Central in their previous matchup back in February of 2018, losing 55-36. Can Grand Traverse Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
