Baseball Recap: IMG Academy Royal Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

IMG Academy Royal entered their tilt with MVP Baseball Academy on Wednesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. Their pitcher stepped up to hand MVP Baseball Academy a 10-0 shutout.

Zach Brauer looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, IMG Academy Royal let Tom Imaizumi and Jaxson Vassallo run wild. Imaizumi scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Vassallo scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Kanta Miyabe, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

IMG Academy Royal's win bumped their record up to 16-5. As for MVP Baseball Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. IMG Academy Royal will square off against rival Inspiration Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Ascenders 3.2, the Lions 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, MVP Baseball Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Reborn Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
