The Mountain Ridge Sentinels came into Thursday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against Bingham on Thursday as Mountain Ridge made off with a 63-43 win. The victory was just what Mountain Ridge needed coming off of a 71-42 loss in their prior game.
Mountain Ridge found their leader in underclassman Cailin Kehl, who scored 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Kya Newton was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Bingham lost, one person who can't be blamed is Addy Horsley. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Lena Casperson, who scored eight points.
Even though they lost, Bingham smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain Ridge only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Mountain Ridge's win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Bingham, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-8.
Mountain Ridge will take on Corner Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Mountain Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday.
