Make it six blowout wins for the Horizon Honors Eagles this season. They claimed a resounding 56-29 victory over Arete Prep at home. The win was nothing new for Horizon Honors as they're now sitting on five straight.
Horizon Honors had a senior duo take command as Matthew McEnaney scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and eight blocks and Diego Torres scored 15 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. McEnaney is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Emmanuel Carter, who scored two points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Despite the defeat, Arete Prep saw an underclassman step up: Harrison Kremer scored 16 points along with two steals. Ryan Mourad was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Arete Prep struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Horizon Honors racked up 18 assists.
Horizon Honors' win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Arete Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.
Horizon Honors won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. As for Arete Prep, they will head out on the road to challenge the Roadrunners at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
