Washburn had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 49-40 victory over the University School Buccaneers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 56-21 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Washburn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hannah Williams, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards. What's more, Williams also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Taylie Proffitt, who posted 16 points and four steals.

Washburn smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Washburn's win bumped their record up to 18-8. As for University School, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-22.

Looking ahead, Washburn will challenge Unaka at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for University School, they will face off against Cloudland at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
