The Lawrence County Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 74-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Russellville. Lawrence County has struggled against Russellville recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Lawrence County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braylon Dame, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Smith, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Lawrence County now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Russellville, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lawrence County will take on Brewer at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Brewer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Tuesday. As for Russellville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hamilton at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
