There's no place like home for the Prospect Ridge Academy Miners, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 46-35 victory over Forge Christian on Friday. For Prospect Ridge Academy, this counts as revenge for the 40-37 defeat Forge Christian walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Prospect Ridge Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Audrey Zych out in front who scored six points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Kayah Robbins was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Forge Christian saw an underclassman step up: Finley Queen almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Maxine Rossi, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Prospect Ridge Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-12 record this season. As for Forge Christian, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prospect Ridge Academy will challenge Colorado Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Forge Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Peak to Peak at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Peak to Peakpresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Forge Christian in Colorado (Peak to Peak is ranked 53rd, while Forge Christian is ranked 208th).
