After a string of three wins, the Colbert County Indians's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They lost to West Morgan on the road by a decisive 55-41 margin. Colbert County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2017.
When it comes to explaining why Colbert County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chloe Gargis. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joyden Ricks, who scored nine points.
Colbert County's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for West Morgan, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-12 record this season.
Colbert County will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Alabama (Sheffield is ranked 215th, while the Indians are ranked 199th). As for West Morgan, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th.
