The Evansville Reitz Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Hancock County on Friday as Evansville Reitz made off with a 48-27 win. The score was close at the half, but Evansville Reitz pulled away in the second half with 29 points.
Leading Evansville Reitz to victory were Norah Miller and Bailey Hape. Miller dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Hape scored 17 points along with five steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Miller has scored at least 25% of Evansville Reitz's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Kaiser, who scored four points along with six rebounds and six steals.
The victory (which was Evansville Reitz's third in a row) raised their record to 11-2. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.67 points. As for Hancock County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evansville Reitz is on the road again on Thursday and play against Castle at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Castle is ranked 55th, while Evansville Reitz is ranked 47th). As for Hancock County, they will head out on the road to face off against McLean County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
