Grand Ledge is on a three-game streak of home wins, while East Lansing is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Grand Ledge Comets will take on the East Lansing Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Grand Ledge got themselves on the board against Okemos, but Okemos never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wolves 49-0 at home. Given Grand Ledge's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Okemos is ranked 415th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, East Lansing blew past Holt, posting a 42-7 victory at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 21-0.
Dwataye Sams jr continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 205 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Sams jr's longest rush was for an incredible 77 yards. Charlie Baker got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 6-2.
Grand Ledge strolled past East Lansing in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a score of 45-30. Does Grand Ledge have another victory up their sleeve, or will East Lansing turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
