It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Fisher Catholic ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They walked away with a 12-8 victory over the Berne Union Rockets. Winning may never get old, but the Irish sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Lauren Kersell made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over eight innings while giving up six earned (and two unearned) runs off 13 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
