Soccer Recap: Lowndes Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Lowndes had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against the Ware County Gators on Thursday as the Lowndes Vikings made off with a 4-1 win. The score was close at the half, but the Vikings pulled away in the second half with three goals.

Alicia Vega and Lucy Longshore scored all four of Lowndes' goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lowndes will take on Atkinson County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ware County will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Islands at 6:15 p.m. on February 21st.
