Softball Recap: Wellston Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Wellston got themselves on the board against Alexander on Thursday, but Alexander never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 13-0 victory. Considering the Golden Rockets have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Karly Rinehart, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyla Pittenger, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Wellston has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Alexander, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-11.

Wellston didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-1 victory against South Webster on the 6th. As for Alexander, they have also already played their next game, a 7-1 defeat against Meigs on the 2nd.
