The East Rockaway Rocks were the 54-53 winner over the Carle Place Frogs when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. East Rockaway fell 55-42 to the Frogs on Thursday. East Rockaway has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Caitlin Leary was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 36 points and 12 rebounds for Carle Place. That makes it four consecutive games in which Leary has scored at least a third of Carle Place's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Gomes, who scored four points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
East Rockaway now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Carle Place, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Rockaway will play host again and welcome the Wildcats, where tip off is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Carle Place, they will be playing at home against the Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Cold Spring Harbor and the Frogs are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
