It was a good run, but The Crossett Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 36-26 to Monticello. The match was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but Crossett was blown out by Monticello in the second.
Crossett's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Max Brooks, who rushed for 48 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 93 yards and a touchdown. Taylin Paskel was in the mix as well, providing Crossett with two touchdowns.
Monticello's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ja?quayvius Rhodes led the charge by gaining 128 total yards.
Crossett's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Monticello, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crossett will take on Nashville at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Nashville will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Monticello, they will head out on the road to face off against Highland at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arkansas (Highland is ranked 97th, while Monticello is ranked 72nd).
