Sabinal's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joseph Contreras led the charge by dropping a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds. Contreras has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tre Morgan, who went 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 4 assists.
The victory got Sabinal back to even at 11-11. As for La Pryor, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-16.
Sabinal will head out on the road to face off against Brackett at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Brackett is ranked 1321st, while Sabinal is ranked 1298th). As for La Pryor, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stockdale at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Stockdale is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
