It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lake Central had no problem doing just that  on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mooresville Pioneers  and snuck past  2-1. The  win was familiar territory for Lake Central who now have nine in a row.
  Blake Sivak looked comfortable as he  tossed 3.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in eight consecutive pitching appearances.
 On Mooresville's side,  Hogan Denny put in work while hitting and pitching. He  struck out 12 batters over  8.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit (and only one walk). Denny was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-5.
 Denny wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Deklan Thompson, who  went 1-for-3 with a  stolen base and  an  RBI.
 Lake Central is  on a roll lately: they've  won ten of their last 11 matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 25-9 record  this season. As for Mooresville, their defeat dropped their record down to 32-4.
 As of now, neither Lake Central nor Mooresville have any future games scheduled.
