Seventy-First extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 4-1. They walked away with a 36-28 victory over the Jack Britt Buccaneers. That's more bragging rights for the Falcons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Seventy-First got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Shon Pone out in front who picked up 120 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 91 yards and one TD on only nine carries. Pone didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles and defended one pass. Another player making a difference was R'Maunni Watson, who rushed for 80 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Seventy-First was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 272 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 264 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

As for Jack Britt, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. The match marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Jack Britt still got an impressive performance from Gavin Stokes, who threw for 266 yards and three TDs while completing 81.8% of his passes. Aiden Page was Stokes' top target, picking up 51 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After each having a week off, Seventy-First and Douglas Byrd will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Falcons will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38.6 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Jack Britt, they will take on Pinecrest at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. This will be the Buccaneers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
