It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cumberland Valley had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They walked away with an 89-76 victory over the Trinity Shamrocks. The Eagles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Cumberland Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nolan Buzalka, who dropped a triple-double with 23 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists. Buzalka has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more boards the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Creston Austin, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten rebounds.
Buzalka wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Cumberland Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Several Shamrocks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. The victory was the eighth in a row for Cumberland Valley, bringing their record for this year to 21-3. As for Trinity, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-6.
