The Rocky River Pirates scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. Everything went their way against Bay as Rocky River made off with a 67-42 win. Given Rocky River's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while Bay is ranked 481st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ava Patti continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 18 or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Russell, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Rocky River is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Bay, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rocky River will face off against St. Vincent-St. Mary at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Vincent-St. Mary is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Bay, they will head out on the road to face off against Steele at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
