Green Valley hasn't had much luck against Shadow Ridge recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Gators are taking a road trip to face off against the Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. Green Valley will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Green Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Virgin Valley, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Green Valley was ranked 11th). The Gators blew past the Bulldogs 13-3 on Tuesday. The Gators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Mia Mor Hernandez was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lauryn Galvin was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two triples, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Lyla Baxter also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Meanwhile, Shadow Ridge beat Liberty 7-4 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.
Shadow Ridge got a big performance out of Giselle Castellanos, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Madison Blosser, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Shadow Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive games.
Green Valley's record now sits at 15-10. As for Shadow Ridge, their record is now 16-6.
Green Valley suffered a grim 16-6 defeat to Shadow Ridge when the teams last played back in March. Can the Gators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
