The Eau Gallie Commodores will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Vero Beach Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Vero Beach will be up against a hot Eau Gallie squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Eau Gallie was the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over Rockledge on Tuesday.
Isabel (Izzy) Gambill made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Leah 'Spike' Pechart was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Pechart is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's stole at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ainsley O'Dell, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Eau Gallie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rockledge only posted a batting average of .259.
Meanwhile, Vero Beach hadn't done well against Treasure Coast recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Vero Beach was the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over Treasure Coast. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.
Gabrielle Espich made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kylie Williams, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Devin Snow, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple.
Eau Gallie's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Vero Beach, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Both Eau Gallie and Vero Beach just can't seem to miss. Eau Gallie has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. However, it's not like Vero Beach struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Eau Gallie took their victory against Vero Beach in their previous meeting last Tuesday by a conclusive 18-5. Does Eau Gallie have another victory up their sleeve, or will Vero Beach turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
