Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Dixie Hollins should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They will take on Boca Ciega at home at 7:30 PM. With a combined 936 yards in their previous games, we can expect a fast-paced match.
Dixie Hollins put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season last Friday. They made easy work of Osceola and carried off a 34-0 win. Dixie Hollins found their leader in underclassman sophomore Fernando Monroe, who passed for 244 yards and 3 touchdowns. Monroe has now scored at least one touchdown in the past five games.
As for Boca Ciega, it's was a good run, but they finally witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak. They had victory within their grasp but couldn't quite capture it as the team lost 26-27 to Clearwater. That makes it the first time this season Boca Ciega have let down their home crowd.
Dixie Hollins's victory lifted them to 4-4 while Boca Ciega's loss dropped them down to 6-3. The Dixie Hollins defense got after the quarterback against Osceola to the tune of nine sacks, so Boca Ciega's offensive line better have put in some good practice this past week in preparation for the contest.
