Lake Musall made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had over his last four matchups. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. North Miami is 4-2 when Meredith posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Quinn Hostetler, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, West Central had just enough and edged out North Newton 7-5 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted against the Spartans since April 25, 2023.
Like North Miami, West Central also got a great game from a two-way player: Connor Huber. Throwing, Huber pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Teagen Holle struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. Huber has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Huber went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Holle went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Zane Wall was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Tate Leman, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
West Central's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for North Miami, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. North Miami has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like West Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
North Miami got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against West Central by a conclusive 6-0 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
