The Discovery Canyon Thunder had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.2 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. They managed a 67-61 win over Rampart. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Discovery Canyon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hugh Tarpenning, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Tarpenning hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Michah Rohacs, who scored 13 points.
Several Rams players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Theodore Wilson, who scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilson has scored all season. Adeel Johnson El was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Discovery Canyon pushed their record up to 10-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Rampart, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
Discovery Canyon will head out on the road to square off against Air Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Air Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups. As for Rampart, they will be playing at home against Vista Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vista Ridge is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
