Meanwhile, on Friday Mountain Vista's undefeated season almost came to an end. They had just enough and edged out Valor Christian 38-36.
A big part of Mountain Vista's victory came down to the chemistry between Marquise Reese and his top target Brooklyn Bailey. Reese threw for 420 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt while Bailey picked up 248 receiving yards and one score. Bailey showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 67 yards.
Mountain Vista didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Bailey and Halden Robinson. Another thorn in Valor Christian's side was Lucas Conklin, who picked up a sack, made eight total tackles, and defended one pass.
The win got ThunderRidge back to even at 3-3. As for Mountain Vista, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
ThunderRidge was dealt a bruising 51-0 defeat at the hands of Mountain Vista when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Grizzlies, Austyn Modrzewski (who threw for 367 yards and six touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
